Not all heart problems require surgery
When heart disease is diagnosed, open-heart surgery may not always be the answer. A cardiologist may correct the problem with little or no incision and a brief hospital stay.

Health Guide
Insect bites and stings
Most people aren't allergic to insect stings or bites, so you should recognize the difference between an allergic reaction and a normal reaction. Although the severity of an insect sting reaction varies from person to person, a normal reaction will result in pain, swelling, and redness just around the sting location.
Partial hysterectomy
Technically, any operation where the uterus and cervix are removed is a total hysterectomy. But if the ovaries and fallopian tubes are left in place, the procedure is sometimes called a partial hysterectomy.
The cost of orthopedics
The various pads available at your local drug store are orthodics, and they're very reasonably priced. Arch supports, foam shoe liners and metatarsal pads all fit into this category.
Financial aid
Some cosmetology programs may be eligible for state or federal financial aid. If your ability to attend beauty school is dependent upon receiving financial help, be sure to check with the school in advance regarding their status.
What are community mental health centers?
Your community's mental health center may be a good resource for information on home health care and assisted living. Some centers may have seminars on issues such as evaluating the level of care necessary or choosing appropriate care, while others may simply direct you to agencies able to provide the information you need.
